A music remixing platform that transforms users into DJs by allowing them to blend stems from unique tracks in real-time.

By empowering the visitor’s inner musician to create dynamic compositions, it encourages creativity through an interface that makes music production feel like play.
The experience naturally flows into collaboration, with multiple users mixing elements together to create dynamic compositions.
LED lights draw attention to the interface, where tactile domes invite interaction - their shape fitting naturally in the palm of your hand.
Placing a dome activates music, providing immediate feedback.
Each additional dome placement introduces a new musical element, while LED animations grow to reflect the active layers.
Users activate continuous audio loops by placing half-spherical domes onto designated regions, with each dome triggering a unique stem- vocals, melody, or beat. The DJ Music Box allows layering of up to seven synchronized stems.
The project's physical design prioritizes tactile elements and visual simplicity. Starting in Blender, we crafted 3D models of the interface components, followed by rapid prototyping with cardboard. The final build combines precision-cut wood for the base, custom-molded silicone domes for tactile feedback, and frosted acrylic accents.
Presented to hundreds of visitors at NYU- inviting strangers to spark musical collaborations.
